As an adult, I struggle to spend money on stylish workwear that can only be worn to work. At my day job I want to look professional and stylish, but I also want to be able to rework those same items to wear on the weekend out with friends, around town or on a date. So many times I am only able to find pieces that fill one purpose – professional or play. In today’s post I am going to show you how I created a super stylish outfit with pieces from Holl & Main Boutique that can be worn professional and also transition to a fun weekend look. Thank you to Holl & Main for collaborating on this post.
Holl & Main Boutique
When I discovered Holl & Main at a blogger event a few weeks ago, I was SO excited. The owner Jenn is a former IBM employee who is passionate about providing affordable style to working women who want stylish professional pieces that can be worn to work and out of the office for a fun date or social gathering. She saw the lack of versatile options as a major gap in the style industry both locally and online and I am so happy she decide to pursue her dream and make this boutique a reality. You know I am all about women’s empowerment and style.
The Shopping Experience
You are going to love the Holl & Main shop. Jenn and her staff make you feel like their girlfriend and will help you with all your styling needs. Every time I go in, I want to buy out the whole store and there are new items dropping constantly. The first time I was in I picked up an adorable white blazer and black dress pants with ruffle pockets. Both pieces have become work wear staples for me over the past few weeks.
Professional Style Elements
- Soft top with adorable detail – I chose this top because it is SO soft and I love the peplum detail. It can be worn with white pants, black pants, or even with a skirt for a more professional look.
- Blazer or cardigan top – I chose this navy blazer that is stylish while also professional. The cut of the open front is extremely flattering
- Toned down accessories – I chose simple studs for the more professional look. The playful earrings would have been to distracting during meetings and throughout my work day. I added this navy tassel necklace for a little detail with the solid color tops. If I had a busy top, I would skip the necklace.
- Neutral Shoes – I chose flats for my busy day and a neutral color to simplify the look, while still looking put together.
Outfit Details: Blazer (Sold out online, White Option), Top, Pants (size down), Flats, Necklace, Earrings
Casual Style Elements
- More playful jewelry – I added some navy fringe earrings for a pop of fun. They really help transition the look from more professional to fun. I also plan to wear these earrings with a more neutral professional outfit to add a more stylish element.
- No blazer – I removed the blazer and showed off my arms. While the blazer could have stayed and I love the style, taking it off really signaled the shift and made the overall look more casual
- Change to colorful wedges – The colorful patterned wedges are a better fit for a social gathering and by removing the neutral flats I make the whole look a little more exciting and playful.

Stylish New Items Weekly
Last week, I had the opportunity to model some of Holl & Main’s new items in preparation for the 4th of July holiday. As we were going through the new pieces, it was so fun to imagine how each item could be incorporated into a stylish workwear or a casual outfit. Jenn has truly created a space of style and empowerment for the professional woman and I love supporting her as a strong entrepreneur.
I have included some of the new items below and you can check out the full 4th of July Collection online. I love this adorable blue eyelet top that would be perfect for the office or a date night. I’m modeling it here with the same navy tassel necklace from my outfit above and these tan wedges which was insanely comfortable.
This shirt blew me away. It wasn’t eye catching on the hanger, but it really came to life once I tried it on. It could be work in a professional setting with a cami underneath, simple earrings and a blazer or cardigan for cooler more professional settings.
I am still brainstorming how I can incorporate this jumpsuit into my office attire. A form fitting white blazer and a closed toe shoes could really dress it up. Do you think I could pull it off?
Thank you again to Holl & Main for collaborating on this post and taking the photos for this post.
