Kohl’s is one of those stores I generally forget to frequent, but when I get there I can get lost for hours. When Influenster asked me to check out the Kohl’s Beauty Semi-Annual event, I jumped at the opportunity.
Sadly my $10 in Kohl’s cash didn’t get me very far. Since Kohl’s is not somewhere I generally think of for beauty, I wanted to share my experience with you all and let you know about some of my awesome finds. The best part is that Kohl’s beauty carries some brands that are usually hard to come by in store. I think I am officially hooked.
Each day in November Kohl’s is offering a daily beauty deal. On the day that I went Cargo mascara and Lorac pore perfecting foundation were both on sale.
Check the Kohl’s website to plan out your trip accordingly. While the beauty section at Kohl’s is relatively small compared to a Sephora or Ulta, I must say I spent almost an hour the first time I went just exploring the palettes, testing lipsticks and playing with the foundation. I was most excited to try out the Cargo brand which I have heard so much about. I also took some time to fawn over theBalm line, which has the best product names EVER! I have only previously only purchased their items on Amazon and in a Paris drugstore (oddly enough). My favorite theBalm products are the Mary-Lou Manizer highlight (cult favorite) and the Down Boy blush (the perfect pink).
How cute is this In theBalm of Your Hand palette with eye shadow, blush, contour and the all famous Mary-Lou Manizer
Lorac is another brand that Kohl’s carries that I love. Their powder contour palette is my absolutely favorite. I like it even more than the Anastasia powder contour palette and that is saying a lot. The powders are so pigmented and easily blendable. I wear the light contour shade almost everyday.
I spent the majority of my time in the Kohl’s beauty section playing with lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes. While I don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow, I am a sucker for the packaging and all the shimmer shades. This giant Cargo holiday palette has ever color I could ever need and it’s less than $40!!!! I am also in love with this gradient eyeshadow palette. I didn’t get it last weekend and I am still regretting it. I think I’ll need to go back this weekend.
So what about foundation and lips? I ended up getting the Lorac foundation in light-medium and while it did not work magic on my pores I did like the finish and the coverage. I am wearing it in the pictures below (no editing/filters).
Now, on to my favorite part…lips! Kohl’s Beauty killed it in terms of lip products for me. I purchased my first matte lip color from Cargo in this beautiful mauve and paired it with the METALLIC gloss from a new brand I discovered called LIQUE. I never thought I could pull off a metallic gloss, but I am OBSESSED! Even my husband commented on my lip color. I’d say that is a win.
After purchasing the metallic lip color in what I thought was French Kiss, I got all the way home and realized I had grabbed the wrong box. It was the matching matte color instead of the metallic gloss. The next day I went back and was able to get the very last tube! You can see my true excitement and the gloss up close in my video clip linked below.

Other items I wish I had picked up:
- This amazing white eyeliner that I would use on my waterline (Color: Secret Beach)
- This eyeshadow shimmer stick that would be the perfect highlight for the brow bone, inner eye or cupid’s bow (Color: Glacier Bay)
