Another trip around the sun is truly a gift. After facing cancer, I will never complain about growing old but that doesn't keep from from a little Botox haha. To celebrate another year on this earth I asked 33 women who inspire me to share a quote that they love. I hope these words guide me for many years to come.
I also hope you check out each of these ladies that bring humor, joy, love, and support to my life.
1. "Cancer may take my breasts and my hair but I will keep my lipstick and heels. I will find a way to feel beautiful in spite of my loss!" - Anna Crollman
2. “Your time is your only true inventory. Spend it wisely.” Melissa Berry Cancer Fashionista| @cancerfashionista
3. “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.” Erica Wiseman @thepetiteredhead
4. "Never allow fear to keep you from going after your dreams. You automatically fail when you decide not to try, so why not bet on yourself? You are wildly capable and can do anything you put your mind to." Nella @naturallynella
5. "It's OK and important to say NO." Jas McDonald @jasmcdonald
6. "Live life for today, because you never know what tomorrow will bring." Dana Donofree @daynadono | AnaOno Intimates
7. "There is no controlling life.Try corralling a lightning bolt, containing a tornado. Dam a stream and it will create a new channel. Resist, and the tide will sweep you off your feet. Allow, and grace will carry you to higher ground. The only safety lies in letting it all in –the wild and the weak; fear, fantasies, failures and success. When loss rips off the doors of the heart, or sadness veils your vision with despair, practice becomes simply bearing the truth. In the choice to let go of your known way of being, the whole world is revealed to your new eyes. Denise Sorin AKA Mom
8. "Over the years (and definitely through this year) I have learned the power in standing firm. Standing firm no matter what life throws your way. Stay rooted in your beliefs and let nothing shake you.” Chelsea @afashionablebeliever | Charley Madelyn Boutique | A Fashionable Believer
9. "After being diagnosed with an aggressive stage 3 breast cancer at 34 years old, I learned that resilience doesn't solely rely on the actions or mentality of one person. Instead, resilience is a reflection of your community, your support system. That is how we get through life - by supporting each other through the challenges and celebrating what we overcome. Life is not a giant competition, it's meant to be lived - together." Jen Hoverstad @Jenhoverstad
10. Billy Joel’s I’ve Loved These Days always reminds me to live in the moment and appreciate life as it is today: “But I loved these days. So before we end then begin, we’ll drink a toast to how it’s been, a few more hours to complete, a few more times that I can say that I’ve loved these days.” Joanna Spruill @mytriplepositivelife

13. "For what it’s worth... it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.” Caralyn Mirand @caralynmirand | CaralynMirand
14. "Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as it should be”. I think we often suck the joy out of life by only focusing on the things we should have as opposed to appreciating what we actually have in this moment. It’s much easier said than time, but this time has reminded me of what is most precious and I’m recommitted to loving the life I’ve been blessed with as I evolve and grow." Shiquita @unconventionalsouthernbelle | The Unconventional Southern Belle, LLC
15. "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Stephanie Seban @stephanie_seban | Thrive Gang
16. "We all have this inner power inside us, unlimited, abundant power that we each have access to if we open ourselves up to it. Challenging times, much like cancer can be an opportunity to help us tap into it. We are capable of being and handling so much more than we give ourselves credit for. Never stop believing in yourself.” Brittney@brittneybeadle
17. "If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal” Valerie @theminimama
18. "At the end of the day, my 'why' is my daughter. As a mother; as a woman; as a citizen - I feel so strongly - in the deepest part of my soul - that I have a responsibility to lead her by example. It's not enough for her to know that I will fight for her; I want her to SEE what that looks like. I want her to see this is about more than being a part of a trend, I want to facilitate a lasting change.” Tiffany Turner Moon @TiffanyTurnerMoon | Tiffany Turner Moon
19. "For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Megh @Lyme_with_me
20. "The biggest lie that other people will tell you is that your feelings don't matter. When you're feeling something, really feel it. Acknowledge it. Sit with it. Find a way to understand it. Honoring your feelings is the best way to learn and stay true to what's important to you. Your feelings matter." Conner Hey Ya'll Blog | @heyyallblog

"I have come to realize that life is very similar to a puzzle, there are so many pieces and the challenging part is having the patience to place them all together, because connecting these pieces may seem very cumbersome and overwhelming, but if we channel the patience, eventually we will notice that all the pieces will come together to create a beautiful piece of art, and we will see why some pieces fit and others did not. We will learn not only how each piece fits together but why it fits, and hence will come to appreciate the whole journey." Salyndria Gregory @missurvivor
26. “You don’t grow when you’re comfortable” Olivia Faith @oliviafaithofficial

28. "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken." Kerry Miller @icedteaandtopknots
29. One of my favorite quotes that I have used as a guiding star in my life is by Eleanor Roosevelt: “Do one thing every day that scares you.” It’s simple, but a reminder that you should always push yourself to try new things - especially if those things scare you. I spent so many years being too scared to do simple things and wasted countless opportunities. Stop saying no, and spend more time saying yes to things you always wanted to experience. When you look back at your life, you’ll want to remember all the experiences you had, not the things you always wished you did. Life is too short to not live it to the fullest. Amy Jones @heyamymegan

35. "Success isn't about how much money you make, it's about the difference you make in people's lives"--Michelle Obama. This is a quote that really resonates with me - the drive, my passion for what I do in my career comes from the potential I have to make a difference in people's lives. That. - for me - is the most rewarding gift of all. Meenah Patel Preston Dental Loft
